Teddy Riner is a new chairman of the International Judo federation sportsmen’s commission

A new chairman of the International Judo federation sportsmen’s commission was officially announced on September, 1, the final day of the World Judo championship (senior group) in Rio de Janeiro. French judoka Teddy Riner became a chairman. Let us remind that Riner won the title of the World Judo champion in the weight class more than 100 kg, having defeated the tatami host Rafael Silva on September, 1. Thus, Riner became seven-time world champion. Also he is a holder of Olympic golden medal in 2012.

Kayla Harrison (the USA), Alina Dumitru (Romania) and Kim Che Bum (South Korea) were the commission members. The International federation executive committee chose the other five judokas as the members of commission. They are Milosh Ungvari (Hungary), Rishod Sobirov (Uzbekistan), Diedonne Dolassem (Kamerun), Tiago Kamilo (Brazil) and Antony Lew (American Samoa). Teddy Riner tells that he is glad about the new honorary post and promises to work hard in order to be deserving judokas’ representative on world level.
