The Confederation: the first birthday!

11:25 | 20 november 2013

The personnel of Confederation of combat and strength sports celebrate its first birthday today on November, 20.

This day one year ago the President of Confederation Timur Askarovich Kulibayev officially declared about the beginning of work of this organization at the presentation in Astana. The confederation includes five Federations: boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, judo and taekwondo. The Confederation stood on its own feet during such short period of time, having proved domestic and world society seriousness of its good intentions. “We don’t self-praise publicly, but work” – these words were exactly a motto for twelve months of hard but productive and interesting activity of the Confederation. A lot of things have been done, indeed, there is no sense to enumerate each of victories, and in some measure it is even vulgar. We would like to give this opportunity to those who felt the power of new organization on their shoulders and also estimated it. Our sportsmen take the floor:

“We entered Confederation of combat and strength sports one year ago. We can say that now we have ideal conditions for progress”

Askhat Zhitkeev, the silver medalist of the Beijing Olympics (2008), Development Director of the Judo Federation of Kazakhstan

"After our Federation joined the Confederation of combat and strength sports, magnificent conditions were created for us. First, our training session has never been paid before. Secondly, from now on, the athletes get wages. Thirdly, the Confederation gave us the opportunity to train exactly where we always wanted. This year we can’t complain about the financing. Everything is super!”

Bauyrzhan Amankulov, the Head coach of Kazakhstani Taekwondo team

"All conditions are created from the part of state for ne to train at ease. The Confederation of combat and strength sports, Weightlifting Federation, our sponsors - "Samruk - Kazyna" Fund of National Welfare and the national company "KazMunayGas" - they all strongly support the weightlifters"

Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Olympic champion (2012)

"Due to the Confederation, I had the unique opportunity to study abroad. As part of the international scholarship "Bolashak" now I study at London's Brunel University. Of course, I'm very happy. I have long wanted to learn English and get a deep knowledge in the field of sport management.

Serik Sapiev, Olympic champion (2012), Sport director of Kazakhstani Boxing Federation

"Today Kazakhstani judo has a real holiday. First, the World Grand-Prix started. This is momentous event also because from now on the September stage of such the prestigious contests will be carried out exactly in Kazakhstan (up to 2016 inclusive). Let's go further. A few hours ago in the sight of yours, in the presence of the Head of Almaty Akhmetzhan Smagulovich Esimov, we have made a presentation of building of the future Judo Academy, which we plan to open in the next year. We have long needed in our home and it is possible that over time the Academy would receive the international status. Finally, after a few minutes we will sign the papers with Mr. Wieser, which will officially confirm the fact that the World Judo Championship-2015 will be held in Astana. Yes, I agree that there is only one day and so many events, but all these things are done to raise domestic judo to unprecedented heights. From myself I would like to express my gratitude to all federations and especially the Confederation, without which it, in general, would be difficult to implement all our plans"

Kenes Rakishev, The President of Kazakhstani Judo Federation (from September, 28, 2013)

"What problems were decided with the help of the Hungarian championship? There are, in fact, enough of them. Now, for example, the Confederation of combat and strength sports solves our problems regarding basing. For what I would like to express my deep gratitude to the administration of the Confederation - Timur Kulibayev, the Director General Saken Musaybekov, as well as the president of the Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling Federation Serik Sultangali"

Tanat Sagyndykov, the head coach of Kazakhstani national team on Greco-Roman wrestling

"After Taekwondo Federation joined the Confederation of combat and strength sports, the big changes happened in our family. The national team now has the opportunity to conduct training sessions abroad, medical equipment is improved, now there are a psychologist and a lawyer in the main team of the state. That is, all the conditions for further development of our team have been created. And this is just the beginning. Strong financial support from the Confederation and the state will certainly become the key to our future success in the international arena"

Shamsat Isabekov, the honorary President of Kazakhstani Taekwondo WTF Federation

After these words there is a wish to work even better. Such words are the best birthday gift, indeed. “It means that everything is not in vain” – as it was sang in one excellent sing with a deep sense.

The next year will be the same dynamic as this one for the Confederation. First, there is a start of Sport base building in Akbulak (Almaty region), it will get the international status, the sessions for taekwondo sportsmen, judokas and wrestlers will be held there. Second, the world weightlifting championship is carried out in September in Astana. And, third, there is a lot of another interesting work, because there are enough competitions of high level with the participation of our sportsmen. Let’s go, Kazakhstan!

We would like to thank all the fans who support our sportsmen, thank the readers of our official web-site for congratulations and warm words, thank our boxers, who have made a splash in the world boxing this year, thank our general sponsors such as JSC FNW “Samruk-Kazyna” and JSC NC “KazMunayGaz”, as well as the sponsors JSC “KazTransGaz” and LLP “Huawei-Almaty”, thank you all for support.
