​Grand-Prix in Tashkent. Men left without any medals

The World Judo Grand-Prix started in the capital of Uzbekistan. There are the results of the first competitive day (men’s group).

Erkebulan Kosaev was close to win the bronze medal in the weight class up to 60 kg, however, in decisive grapple he conceded to the young judoka Herlen Ganbold from Mongolia. Kazakhstani judoka participated in “repechages” after the defeat from the Ukrainian Gevorg Gevorkhyan. Kosaev overcame Bakhrom Inoyatov from Uzbekistan to reach the petite final.

Another citizen of Kazakhstan Seriktay Zaketaev was defeated in his opening fight. His abuser was the tatami host Aziz Zuvaev.

In the weight class up to 66 kg Bakdaulet Sabitov reached the semifinal of the Grand-Prix, where also lost to a rival from Mongolia Batgerel Battsetseg and automatically went to the petite final for the bronze. Alas, there the failure was waiting for our judoka in the face of Brazilian Leandro Cunha. In his first fight Sabitov defeated Ulugbek Norkobilov ftom Uzbekistan.

Another Kazakhstani judoka in this weight Ilyas Izmagilov, as the above-mentioned Zaketaev, concluded his performance at the Grand Prix after the first fight ( he also lost the tatami host Oubek Ashurov ) .

Finally, there comes the weight category up to 73 kg, where the Kazakhstani national team was represented by Zhanibek Nazarov in splendid isolation. In the first fight our judoka defeated the Belorussian Vadzim Shocka, but in the very next fight he was stopped by an experienced Tsagaanbaatar Hashbaatar from Mongolia.
