Latin American judoka Alex Pombo Da Silva, having defeated Kazakhstani sportsman Ertugan Torenov in final (he overcame the experienced Mongolian judoka Tsagaanbaatar Hashbaatar), didn’t give our team to celebrate the victories in all weight classes on the first day of world judo Grand-Prix in Almaty. Smetov won its 60 kg, but Zhumakanov – 66 kg. Torenov, unfortunately, have not managed to win.

What about the others? Dastan Ykybaev, continued the performances in repechages, won two victories and became the bronze winner. His “victims” are the Russian Felix Galuaev and Mongolian Odbayar Ganbaatar.

Unfortunately, Bekzat Manasbaev didn’t manage repeat the same way, as Ykybaev, in repechages. He won only one fight from the two ones, having defeated Aleksey Svirid from Belarus. The judoka from Mongolia Tsagaanbaatar Hashbaatar became the defeater of Manasbaev.
