Teddy Riner became eightfold World champion in Astana!
There weren’t any big surprises in the final block of the conclusive competition day in individual matches of the World Judo Championships .
World champion in weight category +78 kg. among women became Yu Song from China, she won the first medal for the Chinese team in this World Championships, by overcoming the representative of Japan Megumi Tachimoto.
Ryunosuke Haga became the champion in weight category -100 kg. He added the sixth gold medal to the score of Japanese team. Winner of last year’s championships of the World Karl-Richard Frey (Germany) could improve his results. Respectively he has worthily won the silver medal, considering the fact that he lost in the final match only with “shido”. Belgian Toma Nikiforov became the bronze medalist, due to the brilliant “throw”, judged as “ippon”. By this he “punished” Cyrille Maret who overcame Maxim Rakov. Also the bronze medalists is Dimitri Peters (Germany) who also won by full victory the world champion 2014 - Lucas Krpalek.
The main disappointment for fans of the national team of Cuba was the defeat of the main favorite in this weight category, twice world and Olympic champion-2012- Idalys Ortiz. However, Ortiz could summon up courage, did not leave the team without a medal – in her asset there is the bronze medal . Another “bronze” of the World championships has Kanae Yamabe (Japan)
