Grand-Prix. 60 kg. Unique Result!

The fights in the weight class up to 60 kg (men) have been finished at the World Judo Grand-Prix in Almaty.

Result is a really unique. At once four Kazakhstani judokas appeared on the top: Eldos Smetov – gold, Aybek Imashev – silver, Askhat Telmanov and Rustam Ibraev – bronze.

Such an interesting spread happened because the tournament line brought together in final Smetov (he won the Brazilian Diego Santos without any problems) and Imashev (who was stronger than Telmanov), and Ibraev, having got the opportunity to fight for the bronze in repechages, firstly defeated Herlen Ganbold from Mongolia, and then, in petite final, deprived the “victim” of Smetov – Diego Santos – of all chances.

Telmanov, after the defeat from Imashev, automatically appeared in petite final, and don’t let the rival to overcome. Aram Grigoryan from Russia also got it (in the picture).

And, finally, in superfinal ezperienced Smetov, vexed by his performance at the world championship in Brazil, deprived Chilmanov of a chance to win the gold medal with sensation.
