​Judo Grand-Prix in Kazakhstan

The judo “Grand-Prix” world licensed tournament takes place for the first time in Kazakhstan on September, 27-29, under the aegis of International Judo Federation. Starting from 2013, during four years, September stage of these competitions will be carried out in Kazakhstan.

Sportsmen will compete in 14 weight classes (7 for men and 7 for women). Correspondingly, 14 medal sets will be drawn. More than 200 judokas from 19 countries gather for these three days in Almaty, at the Sport Palace named after Baluan Sholak (Abay Avenue, 44, at the corner of Baytursynov Street).

Press-conference, devoted to Grand-Prix, takes place on September, 27, at 15:00 in conference hall of the Sport Palace named after Baluan Sholak. The speakers at the meeting are: Kenes Rakishev, Kazakhstani Judo Federation president, Marius Vizer, International Judo Federation president, Maratbek Myktybekov, the first Vice-president of Judo Federation, Armen Bagdasarov, International Judo Federation sport director, Elsiyar Kanagatov, deputy chairman of Agency on sport and physical culture affairs.
