Olympic Scholarships for our champions!
Kazakhstan athletes became the holders of the «Olympic scholarships for Athletes Rio 2016» under the «Olympic Solidarity» Program.
«Olympic Solidarity» is the program of International Olympic Committee aimed to coordinate the work of National Olympic Committees and focused on development of the Olympic Movement. In the framework of this program, on the initiative of National Federations comprising the Confederation, there were sent the applications from athletes, claimed for the scholarships in the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. NOC of RK after the check of conformity, directed the applications for further consideration of questionnaires to the IOC, which estimated the rate and potential of candidates, claiming for scholarships.
At the moment, the total number of scholarships granted for Kazakhstan - 29, 16 of them - by sports of the Confederation.
The «Olympic Scholarships for Athletes Rio 2016» by sports of the Confederation shall be granted to the boxers Ivan Dychko, Daniyar Yeleussinov, Berik Abdrakhmanov, Adilbek Niyazymbetov, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, the weightlifters Ilya Ilyin, Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maya Manesa, the wrestlers of the Greco-Roman style Almat Kebispayev and Nurmakhan Tynaliyev, the freestyle wrestler Rassul Kaliyev, the leader of Kazakhstan female wrestling team Guzel Manyurova, the judokas Maxim Rakov, Azamat Mukanov and Yeldos Smetov, the taekwondist Nursultan Mamayev.
We remind that the Olympic Games in Rio-de-Janeiro take place from August 5 to 21, 2016.
