​The International judo tournament takes place in Ust-Kamenogorsk

Open international judo tournament in memory of international class master, the world champion Talgat Aktaev, takes place on September, 14 and 15 in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Young judokas at the age to 23 participate in the competitions.

National teams of Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are announced for the international tournament. Kazakhstani national team is represented by the judokas from all country regions.

Master of sports of international class, the world champion Talgat Aktaev initially was engaged in sport wrestling (since 1977) under the guidance of experienced coach Zhanadil Ataev, after two years young Kazakhstani boxer won a silver medal at the country championship. Also Talgat Aktaev got the honorary title of the USSR sambo champion in 1981, the same year he became a holder of a silver medal at the USSR judo championship. In 1982 the sportsman brought a golden medal to the national team collection of the World sambo championship. Unfortunately, talented sportsman tragically lost his life in 1992, when he was very young, at the age of 28.
The first judo and sambo tournaments in memory of early fallen sportsman were carried out in 2005. The tournament became the traditional one from this year. In 2013 it will take place for the ninth time. Physical culture and sport direction of Eastern Kazakhstan region is the organizer of the tournament.

Tomorrow, on September, 14, the solemn opening of International tournament takes place at 16:00 at the regional sport complex in Ust-Kamenogorsk city (Voroshilov Street, ½). The competitions start at 10:00 before the opening.
