Last Tuesday, on August, 27, Kazakhstani sportsman Azamat Mukanov won the silver medal in the weight class up to 66 kg at the World championship (senior group) in Rio de Janeiro.

The judoka, up to final, was decisively defeating rivals from Russia, Singapore, The Great Britain, and Japan. Azamat deprived the European and world champion Georgiy Zantaraya from Ukraine of a victory chance. Sergey Lim, who also appeared in the weight class up to 66 kg, didn’t manage to finish the first round, he conceded to a rival from Uzbekistan. Lenariya Mingazova in the weight up to 52 kg, who defeated rivals from Argentina and Australia in the first rounds, couldn’t overcome Jaana Sandberg from Finland, and she also finished the contest.
