​Kazakhstani judokas are ready for the World championship

The most important event for all world judokas – the World Judo championship - 2013 (senior group) takes place in a few days in Brazil. The competitions are carried out from August, 26 to September, 1 on the area of «Maracanãzinho Arena» sports complex (Rio de Janeiro). 779 sportsmen from 124 countries will meet in grapples, and the results help to find out the strongest ones. The individual meetings draw takes place on August, 26, which is the day of championship opening. 14 medal sets in individual competitions and 2 medal sets in team contests will be drawn.

It should be noted that the team contests are proposed for inclusion in the Olympic Games 2016 program. Also the new code of points will be tested during the championship in Brazil.

After the previous championship in France, national team was waiting and training for the coming world competition for two years. At that time in Paris, in 2011, the Kazakhstani team leader Maksim Rakov won a “silver” medal, moreover, two years ago in Rotterdam, he became the first world champion in history of Kazakhstan. Then our judoka won a victory over a rival from Holland – Henk Groll, in a convincing “gold” fight.

Man team:

1) Eldos Smetov (60 kg). The world rating position is No. 8. The World champion (junior group) in 2010, the bronze prize-winner of the world championship (junior group) in 2011 and the Asian championship in 2013.

2) Askhat Telmanov (60 kg). The world rating position is No.9. The silver prize-winner of “Grand Slam” tournament (2013) and the “World Cup” (2011), the seventh one at the “World masters” tournament – 2013 (It’s the third competition in the list of the most prestigious contests after The Olympic Games and The world championship).

3) Sergey Lim (66 kg). The world rating position is No.3. The champion of Asia in 2012, the winner of the “Worldmasters” international tournament in 2013.

4) Azamat Mukanov (66 kg). The world rating position is No. 30. The bronze prize-winner of the Asian championship in 2013.

5) Dastan Ykybekov (73 kg). The world rating position is No.73. the bronze prize-winner of the World cup in 2010, the fifth one at the 16’Th summer Asian Games in 2010.

6) Dauletkhan Zhakypov (81 kg). The world rating position is No.83. The bronze prize-winner of the Asian championship –2013 in team event.

7) Islam Bozbaev (90 kg). The world rating position is No. 21. The World Cup holder in 2011, the silver prize-winner of the Asian Games in 2010 and The Asian championship in 2011 and 2013.

8) Maksim Rakov (up to 100 kg). The world rating position is No. 12. The world champion in 2009, the Asian champion in 2009, the silver prize-winner of the World championship in 2011 and the Asian Games in 2006, the bronze prize-winner of the Asian championship in 2007, the Asian games in 2010 and the World Youth championship in 2002.

9) Erzhan Shynkeev (more than 100 kg). The world rating position is No. 33. The champion of the Asian Games 2009 in the combat sports, the bronze prize-winner of the Asian championship in 2011 and the world student games in 2009.

10) Ertugan Torenov (73 kg). The world rating position is No. 45. The silver prize-winner of the Open European cup -2013, the bronze prize-winner of the European Youth Cup – 2011.

Woman team:

1) Aygul Baykuleva (48 kg). The world rating position is No. 51. The fifth place of the Asian championship in 2013.

2) Aleksandra Podryadova (48 kg). The world rating position is No. 67. The bronze prize-winner of the World Youth championship in 2006, the champion of the World Cup in 2012.

3) Lenaria Mingazova (52 kg). The world rating position is No. 37 (in the former weight up to 57 kg). The champion of the Asian Games in combat sports in 2009, the bronze prize-winner of the Asian championship in 2013, the silver and bronze prize-winner of the World cup (2011, Tashkent and Prague).

4) Dinara Kudarova (70 kg). The world rating position is No. 77. The fifth place at the Asian championship in 2013.

5) Anar Seytimova (up to 78 kg). The world rating position is No. 53. The champion of the World Cup in 2012, the bronze prize-winner of the European Cup -2013.

6) Gulzhan Isanova – (more than 78 kg). The world rating position is No. 30. The champion of Asia in 2009, the bronze prize-winner of the “World masters” tournament in 2012 and the Asian Games in 2010, the seventh place of the Olympic Games-2012.

The next city, where the best world judokas will gather in 2015 is Chelyabinsk, the representatives of this city will get the competitions flag immediately after the finish of the contests.
